Multishells POS

Multishells POS (Hello POS) is a high-performance, local-first Windows desktop point-of-sale platform engineered specifically for the demanding workflows of modern restaurants and fast-paced retail stores. Built on top of an Electron and React 18 architecture powered by Vite, the software delivers sub-millisecond local transaction speeds, tactile order entry, multi-channel payment processing, ESC/POS hardware receipt printing, and a real-time kitchen order queue with automated countdown timers.

1. High-Speed Checkout Terminal & Cart Ledger

Designed for cashier speed with instant food search, horizontal category pill navigation (Burgers, Chips, Drinks, Shawarma), item modifier adjustments, table and dine-in selectors, and multi-channel payment method checkouts (Credit Card, Cash, QRIS). Subtotals, taxes, and grand totals calculate dynamically through a centralized React Context state container.

2. Real-Time Kitchen Order Queue & Countdown Timers

Eliminates kitchen bottlenecks with an active order monitoring console. Each customer order ticket features an automated preparation countdown timer (e.g. 10-minute prep benchmark), itemized lines, and single-click delivery fulfillment or cancellation actions, giving floor managers complete visibility over turnaround times.

3. In-App Menu Catalog Administration & Modal CRUD

Provides store owners with administrative control over menu offerings without requiring technical database intervention. The intuitive modal interface allows staff to create new items, update pricing, assign food categories, upload item images, and toggle item availability on the fly.

4. Live Financial Reports & Product Velocity Tracking

Equipped with an executive dashboard tracking gross sales across three distinct timeframes: Today, Current Week, and Current Month. Generates top-selling product velocity bar charts and complete product sales volume breakdowns to assist owners in demand planning and menu engineering.

5. Hardened Electron IPC Architecture & Argon2 Authentication

Built adhering to Electron security best practices with nodeIntegration: false and contextIsolation: true. The React renderer communicates with privileged OS APIs through a typed IPC interface via preload.js and contextBridge. Operator logins and owner PINs are verified using Argon2 cryptographic hashing via argon2-browser with automatic initial seed management.

6. Embedded SQLite Storage & Standalone Windows Installer

Runs on an embedded SQLite database using better-sqlite3 stored in the local userData/hello-pos.sqlite file. An automated versioned migration pipeline handles schema updates across users, categories, orders, order items, settings, and customers. Packaged as a self-contained Windows executable via electron-builder and NSIS, guaranteeing 100% offline operational uptime.
